چکیده

Increased concentrations of natural organic matter (NOM), a complex mixture substances found in most surface waters, have recently emerged as substantial environmental issue. NOM has significant variety molecular and chemical properties, which combination with its varying both geographically seasonally, introduce the opportunity for an array interactions environment. Due to observable increase amounts water treatment supply sources, improved effort remove naturally-occurring organics from drinking supplies, well municipal wastewater effluents, is required continue development highly efficient versatile technologies. Photocatalysis received increasing interest around world, especially during last decade, several investigated processes been regularly reported be amongst best performing technologies supplies mitigate formation disinfection by products. Consequently, this overview highlights recent research developments on application photocatalysis degrade means TiO2-based heterogeneous homogeneous photocatalysts. Analytical techniques quantify hybrid photocatalytic are also reviewed discussed.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Pollutants in Water

A photocatalyst is defined as a substance which is activated by adsorbing a photon and is capable of accelerating a reaction without being consumed [1]. These substances are invaria‐ bly semiconductors. Semiconducting oxide photocatalysts have been increasingly focused in recent years due to their potential applications in solar energy conversion and environmen‐ tal purification. Semiconductor ...

Removal of natural organic matter from aqueous solutions by electrocoagulation

Natural organic matter (NOM) affects some qualitative parameters of water such as color. In addition, it can deteriorate the performance of water treatment process including coagulation, adsorption, and membranes. NOM also reacts with chlorine in the chlorination process and may form disinfection by-products. The present study was carried out in laboratory-scale in a batch system using a cylind...

Biofilm control in water by advanced oxidation process (AOP) pre-treatment: effect of natural organic matter (NOM).

The main goal of this study was to examine the influence of natural organic matter (NOM) on the efficiency of H₂O₂/UV advanced oxidation process (AOP) as a preventive treatment for biofilm control. Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 biofilm-forming bacteria were suspended in water and exposed to various AOP conditions with different NOM concentrations, and compared to natural waters. H₂O₂/UV prevented...
